Modifications
(dial-up / 56k disclaimer: Large images)
I purchased the car with almost everything completed on it already. The only things I have done were to the interior. I repaired a sagging headliner, rerouted the wiring for ECU diagnostics and 12v accessory power. Also added was a radar/laser detector that works great when you get a little too far into the right pedal.
Pictures of the mods:
After
having clearance problems with a 4" pipe on the right side, it was moved to the
left side. This seems to have solved the issue except at the sharpest
angles. Hillclimb competition anyone?
This
is a nice underbody shot of the FLP headers, performance converters and custom
Y-pipe. Oops, the cats are in a box now... must have been removed to save
weight, yeah, that's it.
The
business end. Looks innocent, but sounds mean enough to scare off fart
cans. Sure, it rumbles, but it's growing on me.
Plug
access isn't the best, but much of the block is under the dash.
New
heads and Comp Cams 306 waiting to go on. I have to thank him for this
one. The engine melts tires faster than I can replace them.

Block
teardown time: that would have scared me to see my car that way.

The custom cold air comes right off the BBK throttle body and down into the
fender area. It was wrapped with header wrap to keep the engine from
heating air as it passed through.

Complete engine, pulled and ready for work. Installed at this time were JE 16cc relief forged pistons, SCAT crank, Eagle 6" H-beam rods, and CompCams 1.6 self-aligning rockers.

The final result: a stroked 383
running 10.87:1 compression that turns out 500+ HP with a shot of nitrous.
